    Note:  Print out and copy the scavenger hunt on which the students will use to record their answers.
     

Objective

Students will be able to complete  an online  scavenger hunt on  soil.

 

Description of lesson

1Watch the video, Geologist's Notebook: How to make Mud Pie  with the students pausing and questioning as you would a reading lesson using the DRTA (Directed Reading, Thinking Approach).

 

2.  After the video, guide the students in opening and accessing the scavenger hunt.

 

3.  Give instructions directing the students to record their answers on the printed pages for assessment and documentation purposes.

 

Note:  The webquest is a wonderful way to provide students with prior knowledge before entering into classroom discussions.

 

Assisstive Technology: 

The LCD OR SmartBoard can be used to demonstrate.  Students with visual or learning difficulties may be able to work with the teacher at the SmartBoard as a “helper”. 

 

Assessment Strategies

Students may turn in their scavenger hunt work when finished.
