Book: Here Are My Hands by Bill Martin Jr. and John Archambault
Objective
As a result of this lesson, the students will be able to use a paint program to draw a picture of themselves.
Description of lesson
1. Read the book to the students using the DRTA. Scanning the book and importing it into Smart Board will make reading it easier for students to follow.
2. Assist students in opening KidPix or other paint program Demonstrate how to change color and draw on the document.
3. Allow students time to "draw" themselves. Assist when needed.
4. Provide students an opportunity to use their pictures to tell about themselves.
Assessment: The paint picture may be printed out and used as an assessment.
