Objective

Students will use  an online game to reveiw either whole group or individually material covered during SOL 3.10 & 3.11.

Description of lesson

Students may be divided into class teams, work on pairs, or play individually the above game as a review for material learned.  I partnered the students into pairs and had them keep a tally sheet on how many times they won the game.  This activity is perfect for a one computer classroom.  It may also be sent home for student use.  The game itself may be used as an assessment tool

Note:  The idea behind this lesson of using a game to review and remediate could be done with any SOL at any grade level  My colleague and I have a page of Quia Games which we have together created.

Assisstive Technology: 

The LCD OR SmartBoard can be used to demonstrate.  Students with visual or learning difficulties may be able to work with the teacher at the SmartBoard as a “helper”.
